Why You Should Make Your Kids Go To Church

This is one of the posts where I’d like to be super honest and transparent. Here it is: You should make your kids go to church. Admittedly, this sounds a bit harsh and forceful, but stay with me.

Involvement in church is directly correlated to faith formation in young people. In other words–and maybe this is obvious–a young person’s church attendance is oftentimes connected with their ability to develop into a mature believer. And if that’s the goal of faith (which I think we can all agree with), then going to church is a really important thing.

Humility In Leadership

Somewhat recently, I was asked what I believed to be the most important trait of a successful leader. There are lot’s of ways to answer this question, of course, but I’m convinced one of them is the vital role of humility.

Humble leaders are impactful leaders. Humble leaders are empowering leaders. This is true in any business venture, but it is especially and profoundly powerful in the church.

Developing a Hunger

As we begin this new year, most of us have assembled a list of goals or resolutions to pursue. The writing down of goals is an incredibly important habit. Having a strategy to along with them matters too.

But in order to make any progress on those areas, you need a drive. You need a hunger. I’ve been thinking about my focus for this new year and how I can develop a hunger for 2017.

A Prayer For 2017

As we prepare to say goodbye to 2016, I have a prayer for the New Year. With the passing of one season, we align ourselves for what is up and coming. We embrace the newness that is before us.
